Fear drives some people into madness and others into focus. She was raised in the former and developed into the latter; the disquieting experience of a First Change tends to be dramatic and unpleasant, although some early guidance by like-minded people helped considerably to alleviate the terror of it all.
In time, she developed a passion for helping to guide and correct others through fear; admission into the Lodge of the Hook Hand, especially for a lifelong cryptid and urban legend fan, meant the world was turning in her direction for a change. So it went until the pack ran afoul of something which was not only powerful and old, it was vengeful and violent. When it acted in retribution against them, she was the sole survivor, left as a warning to others who would linger too long in the darkness of myths and legends.
Steeling her resolve, she's seeking to avenge the fallen, right the wrongs and finally conquer the last of those fears - and survive, if possible. Time will tell if Chicago can finish what the monster started.
