Background
His mother is a witch (not a nice one) and his father might be dead, but his upbringing was a thing out of How Not To Raise A Child. It’s a miracle he isn’t a permanent resident of some state mental hospital really. What he is today is a practicing occult consultant for hire, and he gets all kinds. Sometimes it’s weirdos, often the desperate, and very rarely a real serious client who Believes. He makes a living selling charms and amulets and giving advice on spiritual matters that are very much not religious, and has turned down quite a few paranormal “investigators” who really just want to see a ghost. In truth he has a bit of a reputation around Chicago only because what he does seems to work. Skeptics say he’s a con artist or cold reader, believers say he’s a real life wizard. He does nothing to refute either camp. He walks around town with a cane catching public transit and the occasional taxi or Lyft, lives very modestly in a weird little apartment, gets roaring drunk every other night or so, and enjoys horror movies and board games with friends. If he has any, that is.
