Description
Mirabel is a lithe, energetic woman with pale skin and long brown hair. Her piercing hazel eyes are always intensely focused on something, whether it's a person she's talking to, a sketchbook she's drawing in, or something... perhaps off in the distance?
She is usually at least faintly smiling and her body language tends to slip between small, precise gestures and more exaggerated, almost theatrical motions. Her voice is warm and resonant with a faint lilt. She most often wears a simple blouse and knee-length skirt in either bold, vibrant colors or complementary pastels and is almost never without a large purse.
History
From the beginning, Mirabel showed interest and skill in art far beyond what was normal for someone her age and it quickly became clear that she was a prodigy. There wasn't any art form she wouldn't try if given the chance and she frequently impressed her parents, teachers, and other adults with how rapidly she learned. Despite this, she never acquired the fame of other wunderkinder, but that suited Mirabel and her parents just fine.
After a severe head injury left her with synesthesia, Mirabel's artistic expression became far more varied and unusual as she grew, as did some of her behavior, which caused more than a few problems. Nonetheless, she became a regular fixture at local art contests and would gladly tell anyone who would listen about her art except for three years in her teens when she became reclusive but no less creative.
By the time she reached adulthood, however, she had returned to her usual extroverted tendencies and would go on to study at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, earning her bachelor's after a busy four years. Now graduated, she began creating art for a living, but commissions don't grow on trees, causing her to start considering how to expand her reach to new patrons.
