At this point she was married to one of the soldiers that came to fight against the Spanish. By twenty she had given her husband two sons and a daughter, and he had risen in rank among those in the city, securing for them both position and power. During that time the city was once more lost, and then regained, and the Ottoman Empire was invited in to establish a foothold in Algeria.        Things went well for a while, her husband became fat, lazy and did very little fighting any more. He ended up going against one of the other pasha and due to that, and who their friends were, she got abducted and used against her husband. By this point he had his heirs, and didn’t feel a need for his first wife any more. She’d served her purpose, and so he dismissed it. She proved herself to be fearless in the face of her captors, and ended up impressing someone. Something, really.        Her sire is Ismail bin Suleiman, a man that was sent by Suleiman I to Algeria when the Barbarossa requested the protection of the Ottoman Empire. It was a rare thing at the time that a woman would be Embraced, but Ismail decided to take a gamble on Khalida and Embraced her during her captivity. The experience was an unpleasant one, and she was locked up for a full month, only allowed to feed off vermin until she could control herself. Only then did he begin to let her come along on hunts with him.        The first decade of her unlife was spent in various outposts and holdings of the Ottoman Empire along the Berber Coast. Her Sire was a loyal follower, even unto death. From him she learned how to track the enemies of the Empire, and to do whatever it took to protect them. Unknown to her in those early days the Empire was practically synonymous with the First Estate, the ties between them ran so deep, and so many within the power structure of the Ottoman Empire were placed in their positions not just because of their own drive, but because of those behind the scenes.        It was then that she began her membership in the Lancea Sanctum, her membership endorsed by her Sire. Things proceeded as expected, they attended to the matters of their respective covenant, as well as the Empire. She went through her ups and downs, but always with her Sire there to make sure that she did her very best to learn the rules, and how to conduct herself with the appropriate amount of gravitas.        Her Sire remained on the Berber Coast, but in 1543 she was sent to aid the efforts in Hungary. The joint effort of the Ottoman Empire and France against the Habsburgs was more than just a mortal fight, there was a drive for more territory, and she spent the next several decades in the area. At first she simply was a foot soldier, doing what needed doing, fighting what fight needed fighting. But eventually her attention shifted to not simply furthering the agenda of the Covenant, and instead finding foes of vampire kind in general to fight. This was anything from vampires that had lost control to werewolves or witches that needed to be dealt with, to other things that didn’t always have a name.   Reasons to Fly Together Duty: This has always been a top priority of hers. Some might question her methods, as she seems very relaxed about many things, however that is simply part of her approach to her duties.
