Kase and Ben meet randomly at a bar and talk about love, life, career and the meaning of existence as they have drinks at Molly O'Malley's.

Just a couple hours after midday and the pub is calm while most of its customers are gone to enjoy the last few weeks of summer. One of those that remain, Ben, is sitting at the bar counter, an empty glass of whiskey in front of him he has idle watches something on the TV.

Kase enters into the area and waves and nods to a few people. He’s already become slightly known here. Moving up to the bar he sees you and sits himself down. “Hey.” He offers with a warm grin. He waves over to the bartender. “Beer.”

Ben turns to look at Kase and grins at the other man."Hey, you. How goes?" He says patting the bigger man on the shoulder."Didn't see you coming. I was watching an old episode of some crime and cops tv show." He then points to the tv in a corner.

The ogre sits down properly and makes himself comfortable. “Yeah I see that, I’m pretty sure that is how those things stay on the air. People sitting in bars watching them.” He takes out his pack of cigarettes and lights one taking a drag pulling an ashtray over to him. Once the beer gets to him he takes a drink. “So how are you and your new friend?” He asks with a slight chuckle.

"New friend? You mean the guy I'm dating? We're doing pretty good. Had out very first date. It was right there, listening jazz and talking about stuff." He says as he sounds happy and a bit nostalgic. He points to a corner, where there are a few booths and a stage area."He's cute and he's very smart. I like being around him. But what about yours? Did it turn out good?"

He nods and chuckles while taking another drink of his beer and gives a large wide toothy grin, they’re a mix of teeth that appear sharper than normal and stone flat. Taking a drag off his cigarette he drops it into the ashtray. “Yeah. Things are going pretty good, he runs the local hobby market.Lot of fun to hang out with.”

"Nice." Ben says and grins to the Ogre."I't's curious the two of us are dating normal guys at the same time. I do hope they turn out really good boyfriends." He then picks his empty glass and raises it to Kase."A toast to our lovers."

Kase raises his beer mug and chuckles a bit with a grin on his face, “Well most people in this world aren’t Wyrd, so it figures that odds are unless you look for someone who is, they’re not going to be.” He says after taking a long drink.

"Can't agree with you more, budy." The Fairest says and grins then he gestures for the server to give him another glass of whiskey."I just hope they don't run away when they discover how wyrd we really are. And how broken we are..." He then sighs and grins sadly."...just know that I had decided that my mortal life was not that important to myself."

”I don’t really plan on letting him know.” The ogre says with a nod of his head. “The less they know the better.” He says finishing his beer. “I’m starting to understand that. Sometimes we think we know what the world is but we really don’t till we are shown something that is real.”

Ben ponders about the other man words for a little while. Then, when he apparently decides on something, he nods and shrugs."Yeah. That's also truth. The less they know, the better." He murmurs to himself and, when his drink arrives, he sips from it longly. Then he turns once more to face the big man and grins."At least I met you and you're always willing to listen me talk about those silly stuff."

Kase nods his head to that and waves over another beer and grins, “Hey it’s all good. We live in a silly world there bud, don’t you know.” He chuckles softly. “I mean look at us. . . just look at things in general. We buy things with either small piece of cloth paper or information that doesn’t really exist.”

Ben nods seriously."When you say it out loud, sounds like we're a bunch of crazies, or teenagers playing some LARP game." He then sips again from his drink and sighs."Do you think they can love us even if they don't know us 100? Is that even possible? To love someone not knowing them completely."

”Can anything really know anything one hundred percent there bud?” He asks starting on his second beer. “I mean there are parts of us that only we know, that we don’t know that we only know.” He chuckles some.”That’s just the way of people and things.”

The Fairsest listen and nods once more."Who would tell an brute like you giving some really good love and life advices?" He grins and looks at the man for a second before resume drinking."No offense, though. Just really uncommon. And thanks. I has been a while since I had someone to listen to me and give me some insights."

The ogre bristles at this, “I’m a Jotan, not a Brute. They're a lesser breed of Bonebreakers.” He mutters softly, taking another drink off his beer and a drag off his cigarette. He blows a silver haze into the air and chuckles. “Sorry, bit . . . stuck up on that matter.” He takes out his phone after it rings a few times and looks at it.

Ben gestures it's okay and then he hears the other man's phone ringing and looks curious."Is it him? What's his name again? I'm terrible at recalling people's names, sorry."

The ogre shakes his head, “Shit.” He mutters, “No, it’s the club. The player I was wanting to recruit decided to go with the Sand Sharks in California.” He mutters, taking a drag off his smoke and muttering under his breath something that sounds German. “We could have really used him, you know bud? He was a good left winger.”

"Sorry about that. I didn't even know California had a hokey team." He says showing how ignorant he is about the sport."At least there are other good players around that you could recruit, no?"

”He was offering at his skill level a lot sign cost, I’m working to become captain so I’m doing a lot of the leg work for him, you know?” He asks with a soft nodd of his head. “California has like fifty two teams from basic to professional.”

"Wait. You're planning to become a captain? That's a really cool thing, isn't it? Shouldn't we be celebrating and stuff?" The Fairest asks looking slightly less apathetic as his eyes cast a tiny bit of brightness.

He nods his head, “Extra thousand a month, and a bit more work then what I’m doing now. I’m not captain yet but I'm still working toward it. We just moved camp so yeah don't you know bud."

"Okay. We'll keep that celebration to when you're officially named captain, then." Ben says and smiles to the other man before taking another sip of his drink."Bet your guy will like to date a team captain. Sounds pretty masculine and sexy." He teases a bit after a second.

”Thanks.” Kase says, finishing his smoke and blowing the last of the haze into the air. “But I’m looking forward to it. It’s the first step in getting to own the team.” He laughs a bit. “Once I do that I can actually start to recruit people at a price I want to pay versus having a cap.”

Now the Fairest looks confused."You what? You want to 'own' the team? Like, really own it? As in buying the team and becoming an entrepreneur?" He asks looking straight at the big man's eyes with real interest and no judment.

”Yeah bud, once I do that I can actually start to move up, and if I work hard enough I can partition the league and see about becoming a NHL (National Hockey League) team. We’d have to move to a nearby city or actually buy out the Chiefs but it would be worth it I think, don’t you know, it’d give me and the boys a chance at the big times. Even if I don’t make it to the NHL on my own I can bring my boys up to that level.”

"That a very cool thing to aim at, honestly. If there is someting, anything I can do to help you achieve that, you can count on me. I'm game." Ben says and offers a hand to a shake a smile bright as the sun.

The ogre grins ear to ear, “Eh, I have a backup plan of making some people that are in my way’s bones my flour for my bread.” He laughs at that, drinking the last of his beer.

"I wish I could do that to some people at the hospital and never get caught, honestly."Ben grins to his own words before continuing."Alright. But if you need someone stitched back together instead of made into flour to your bread, call me. You have my number."

”I could take care of them for you. I don’t mind. I’m a hyper violent being by nature you forget. Breaking bones and shattering lives is what I’m good at. Being a Jotan and a hockey player you know bud?”

Ben nods his head, but looks a little bit worried."I think I'll keep them alive for the time being. I'll let you know if I need a hand on that 'area of expertise', though." He says sounding a little bit cautionous. Then he gestures to the bartender to bring a third drink before looking at the man."That makes me think about something. What you are now is the result of what you've done in There or is it the other way around and you are what you are now because of that's what you really are deep down in your heart?"

Kase thinks, “I’m a Jotan that slays his enemies without concern and world shattering and breaking hate.” He answers honestly, “The Outsider that took me wanted warriors and turned everyone he took into warriors.”

The Fairest blinks looking very confused and then he gives up, sighing."I just wanted to know who am I now and why I was Taken." He murmurs, more to his third drink than to the frost giant by his side."At least you fit your role well."

”Thanks.” He laughs a bit and grins and finishes his drink. “It could be any reason why The Outsiders took you, who knows, it could even be something we don’t even grasp as mortalbeings.”

Ben just nods to that as his attention lies in his drink."I think you're probably right. It could be any reason, including no real reason at all. I'll never really know." He murmurs and them drinks his whiskey all in a single sip, gesturing to the bartender to bring more."You're a good guy, though. Despite your 'killmachine'...modus operandi."

”Violence isn’t necessarily a bad thing, its a skill just like anything else that a person can do. You just have to know how to use it, you know bud?” He grins ear to ear at this, and looks over at his phone, “Oh that’s him. Hey I need to get going, going to help him set up some stuff for his game shop.”

"Go get him, Jotun. Or whatever you call yourself. See you around." Ben says paying no attention to the man as the bartender comes with one more round of whiskey.
