Description

A strangely shaped community area incorporating a group of disparate and contradictory neighborhoods, Forest Glen is a mishmash of old money and stately homes in Old Edgebrook, annexed Native American territory in Sauganash, and the Wildwood area with its massive trees and single-family homes, amongst others.

Places of interest in Forest Glen include the many acres of greenery that make up Bunker Hill, Sidney Yates Flatwoods and Edgebrook woods, the North Branch Chicago River forming the natural boundary for these. Though the area is largely residential, it does have businesses supporting it, including a Starbucks, the Essence Spa, and many churches offering Lutheran, Episcopal and Roman Catholic services.

Forest Glen has no 'L' line, but rail and bus services aid transportation through the district.
