Description

This neighborhood in Chicago's near south side holds more than a few claims to fame despite the working-class nature of the place and its many inhabitants. The Bridgeport neighborhood known to have been the birthplace and home for several of Chicago's former mayors as well as being home to the Chicago White Sox.

While US Cellular Field is largely a focal point of the area the neighborhood is also home to many working class homes of brick while others are in the old craftsman style looking to have been pulled from the pages of an old Sears catalog when the company still manufactured homes.

The business district of the neighborhood featuring a mixture of dive bars, smaller restaurants and mom and pop shops that seem to be part of the life blood of the community here.
