Background
Centuries ago, Gordon Black was Gordon Cobbler, the son of a shoemaker and his wife. He had siblings and was adored by his whole village for his angelic looks, his angelic voice, and the music he played on his family's most precious possession: a piano. They all thought he was going to be famous, that he was going to pull his family out of the mud. They were wrong. Cholera came for them, one by one. It came for his mother last, when he was a young man in love with a mysterious woman who had come to the village in a carriage driven by a dwarf. His sorrow and the music he played at his mother's funeral set his fate in stone, and the woman, the Glass Lady, took him to her realm, where he and others were forced to see to her every desire. Those others became his new family, but when he abandoned them to escape back, he began to forget their names and faces. The world was different now, but he knew he could never be a slave again. So he made the world his own by the stroke of his fingers over piano keys, and now his name is known throughout the land.
RP Hooks
Famous: Gordon's name is known the world over. His music is moody, having brought dictators, queens and presidents to tears. He has composed music for movies, but his reclusive nature has made it difficult for fans or journalists to interact with him. Everyone knows he's in Chicago, now.
Ambitious: Gordon Black won't settle for less than a crown. He has come to Chicago with grand plans and designs, and while he might not get the throne he desires, he's more than willing to do whatever it takes to never be subordinate, to be his own master (and the master of others). He has a complex, and Chicago is a land of opportunity.
Fairest: Of course Gordon's one of the Fairest. His obsession with reflective surfaces, glass and crystal speaks of his Keeper, the Glass Lady, whom he has decided to use a different strategy to elude, surrounding himself with admirers, lovers, and more. The public has never seen him without his mask, and he attempts to use that to lead a double life.
Fragile: The Lost see a man made of crystal, and they're not wrong to think that if enough pressure is applied, Gordon might shatter into a thousand pieces. Despite this, Gordon doesn't fear conflict, possessing abilities that make him confident enough to face any threat, false confidence or not. For all his ambition, he's as fragile mentally as he is bodily.
Pledge: Gordon's superiority complex causes him to pursue Oaths and Bargains that end up with people in his service. If there's anything Gordon actually enjoys, commanding people is at the top of the list. He yearns to be in charge, and if that requires a little bit of magic to make happen, so be it.

Piano Man - Billy Joel
- It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
- The regular crowd shuffles in
- There's an old man sittin' next to me
- Makin' love to his tonic and gin
- He says, "Son, can you play me a memory?
- I'm not really sure how it goes
- But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
- When I wore a younger man's clothes"
