Description At 6'1", this man cuts something of an imposing figure, though there's a depth to his dark blue eyes that takes the edge off of this somewhat. There's something intense and serious about his gaze. He has a firm jawline that speaks of resolve and determination, and a slight dusting of blonde five o'clock shadow that emphasizes the sharp cut of his cheekbones. A stylish, choppy short blonde haircut withstands the eponymous wind of the city he lives in. A single gold hoop earring is in his left ear. His shoulders are broad and his clothes are usually stylish and neatly appropriate to the situation that he's in, though a very discerning eye could deduce they are usually several years out of date in a way that suggests they may be carefully tailored, cleaned, and cared for thrift-store acquisitions rather than the result of a big clothing budget. Striking Looks 1 (Hot as Breakfast) History He's been in Chicago for over a decade, but he's not a native. He once had a promising career as a speechwriter for a politician. The politician and his wife met a messy end. He was cleared of all charges and categorized as a witness. He took home a large worker's compensation settlement for the mental distress. He and his sister went through foster system together before winding up in Chicago. He doesn't much talk about it, but it's also something that can be dug up on the public record. While in the foster care system he saw a great deal of darkness and despair. After his Change he started to understand more of it. Ways that the spirits of darkness, addiction, violence, despair, desperation, and depression would just wear down a person's will and leave them a hollow shell of who they were. Watching people he knew slowly disappear and get replaced by an individual caught in the grip of a downward spiral. Now that he's seen he can't unsee, and now he knows how close he came to the same fate. If he'd been a little weaker. Given into some of those tempting whispers. RP Hooks Property Manager - Ethan owns a run-down 10-plex in (TBD neighborhood) that he bought with his worker's compensation settlement. He charges less than market rent and has worked to forge his tenants into a community. He often forgoes rent for favors since the building is paid for. His tenants rarely leave. Does he ever have money? Not really. The place needs repairs pretty much constantly, and he has to pay his sister to actually be on-site to take care of problems when he can't. Need a place? Need a place where the landlord might not mind what kind of weird shit you get into? Need a place where the landlords can help you move the bodies? Helping Hand - With no regular job, Ethan's pretty free to help out here and there and is generally disposed to. Need some repairs done, some help cleaning up, a volunteer to help with a good cause? You can probably rope Ethan into it. New to This Shit - He really hasn't been at this very long, less than a full year as a full on werewolf and not just a nuzusul, and sometimes it shows. And because of how he was raised, he didn't know anything about his blood until after the Change happened. The guy has had a lot of acclimating to do. A lot a lot. Feel like taking advantage of the fact that he's still wet behind the ears? Know something that he doesn't, and should? Need someone that other supernatural members of the community aren't wise to yet? Happy to build RP around that. Guarded - The Storm Lord ideals of self-reliance and self-improvement appealed to Ethan, resonating with the threads of his own life to date. As did their choice of prey; he hates what he saw happen to so many of his friends and knows the role the spirits played in that. He even finds triumph in meeting challenges and wisdom in never letting anyone see you sweat (a close enough paraphrase of the tribal vow). In those regards, his tribe was a natural choice for him, and no other tribe made sense. But he's not really big into being outwardly macho or domineering; or pushing people's buttons just to probe at weaknesses. Sugrah is a useful exercise two Storm Lords have consented to, and he'll do that and sees the value in it. Leadership, if he becomes worthy of it, is nothing he'd ever shy away from. But he doesn't much care for rudeness or unnecessary aggression. And he tends to keep his guard up until he knows someone better. A Job of Work to Be Done - Ethan tends to focus on what needs to be done while trying to ignore extraneous bullcrap. But hyperfocus has its downsides. Beer on the Back Porch - Ethan enjoyed a beer on the back porch, or a smoke, or a hit on a joint, long before he went through his First Change, and he's yet to drop the habits. He tries not to overindulge and is keenly aware of addiction as a weakness so often won't do any of the above unless invited to, or in front of people he trusts, or unless it's vastly appropriate to the environment in a way that helps him achieve whatever objective he's on. And if he knows someone is downright uncomfortable with any of the above, he abstains. Feel like trying to push him out of these addictions...or introduce him to bright new ones? Just wanna have a beer? Happy to build RP around that. The Hidden Side - Bungee jumping. Sky diving. Extreme sports. Sometimes even weirder things. (Is that a pig, a swimming pool, and a gas can? Why is he buying so much jello?) It's not a side he shows everyone, but Ethan needs outlets, and he often chooses dangerous ones. Do you also like dangerous outlets? Contacts File:Colt.jpg Colt was the one who found Ethan after his Change and helped him get acclimated. He's not entirely sure he didn't disappoint Colt by choosing the Storm Lords instead of the Iron Masters. Still, Colt treats him like a friend, not like a subordinate, and Ethan trusts him. While they haven't formally become pack members under a totem they are already sharing a fair number of resources and watch each other's back as if it's a done deal. John earned Ethan's trust after bailing him and Colt out of jail. Ethan has decided he likes him and trusts him enough to let his guard down around him.
