Description
Mask
Bernard Dawes is, to put it bluntly, huge. He stands at roughly six and a half feet and has the build to match it: he’s large and stocky, but without muscle tone. His skin is tanned and just slightly leathery; with the crows-feet at his eyes and creases on his forehead, he looks as if he’s probably somewhere in his early fourties. His hair is usually left long and loose, gathering on his broad shoulders; its colour, once a crimson red, now dulled to a coppery blonde. His large bushy beard seems to have retained his original hair colour for the most part, brighter, but only just, and shot through with grey around his chin, along with a thick moustache that droops over his upper lip and the corners of his mouth. His nose is cuttingly aquiline and his eyes, sitting beneath a pair of thick eyebrows, are a sharp grey.
Mien
Bernard’s true form reveals his Wizened seeming: if his Mask seems old, his Mien seems ancient. His face is creased and wrinkled and his beard, no longer a vibrant crimson, is slate grey. His skin is much the same colour, like soot has been rubbed so vigorously into it that it has simply been absorbed into his pores. Most unusual though are his hands: from about mid-forearm down, skin gives way to brass blades, that seem melted together in some strange caricature of tendon and bone, as if one had made an accurate replica with only sharply edged metal. There is no replacement for his skin here; if not covered by pseudo-muscle or blocked by bone, one can see straight though the gaps in his hands.
